Otterkill Golf Course plays fair without any hidden hazards. The tree-lined fairways provide generous landing areas, and the fast greens are average-sized. The terrain is typically rolling. Water hazards come into play on some holes. The weekends are reserved for club members only.

I have been a member here for about 15 years. Otterkill is a great bargain compared to other clubs in the Northern NYC suburbs.

Otterkill is not fancy but it is always in great condition, interesting to play and challenging. I have guests who play more prestigeous clubs in Westchester and without exception they find the course to be a good and challenging layout.

The prior lengthy review by Jerry S was very accurate (except that the straam that meanders through the course is just called "the Otterkill", not "the Otterkill River." "Kill" is Dutch for stream.)

You must be a member or a guest of a member to play (or play in a charity outing).

Would travel: 30-60 Miles
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

A great test of golf from the blue tees (almost 7,000). The great thing about this track is that you can play from the white, the plates, or the blues and it is still a good test. Tough par 3's all 4 of em and none less than 180. For the most part the par 5's not really reachable from back tees (unless you hit 300yd drives). On the front you open with a straight slightly up hill par 5, a good hole to start. Hole #2 real tough par 4 to a small green. #4 is a real demanding dog leg left par 4. Your tee shot must be between 230 and 250 to have a shot at the green which is guarded in the front by a 60 yd long pond. Dont hit too far or you'll go through the fwy and be blocked out. Right and your in some trees with only a layup to 100. Pull your drive and you may hit the trees and go in the Otterkill River. Back is real tough #10 is a tough par 4. The course really gets you at what some locals call "amen corner" #15-#17. #15 challenges you to his a straight tee shot +250. OB staring you in the face if you pull it....trees on the right that leave you no choice but to punch out. #16 is one of thoes short pest like holes. Just hit a 150-200 yd shot straight and your ok...one problem... The Otterkill River that runs down the right side. A pond protects the front of a difficult green which slopes from back to front. #17 is a difficult par 3 with a creek in front of the green and a pond right of the green. Add in a pair of bunkers and you have a tough par 3. That is why this place is called "THE KILL".

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Ranks with the best in this price level, Best course in the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
